ENG | 13 July 2019, Migrant Bodies Symposium, Bassano| How can someone’s emotions, their story, their memories be transferred on a T-shirt? Is it possible to tailor a T-shirt that tells of a “Migrant Body”? The students of Fashion and Graphic Design of the dell’Istituto d’Istruzione Superiore Andrea Scotton of Breganze, together with some of their teachers, have attempted with considerable grit, energy and creativity to answer this question. The outcome of this research is pragmatic- no- hyper-pragmatic: the most beautiful T-shirt has become the must-have item for the two days of the Migrant Bodies- Moving Borders Symposium and it was worn by many of the participants, be it dancers, dance professionals, or members of the public. The other T-shirts were displayed for one day in an exhibition on the first floor of Palazzo Agostinelli, where a workshop was also set up for the occasion, in which everyone was free to design their own ideal T-shirt and to create it with the help of the students on site.

We interviewed one of the students present that day, Rajeshree Carlesso, who explained to us how the T-shirt she created was born. Here you can find the video of the interview and our Photo Gallery. If you would like to find out (and see) more, you can visit the official website of the project.
