Dance seen through a child’s eyes | Feedback number 5
The Mini B Motion kids drew Alessandro Sciarroni variously: as a muscular superhero with an attenuated neck, tousled hair in the style of a punk cartoon, like a bearded tramp in Bermuda-shorts (while looking rather kilt-like); as a boy looking glum in an undervest; as a man in red twirling around a piece of torn paper. Some chose psychedelic colours, purples and greens to draw him while he spins around in front of the audience in a red-painted gallery, illustrated in perspective. Some portrayed him whole, filling up the sheet’s white space. Others portrayed the scene itself, marking the space out with vigorous, robust colours, and indicating the direction of rotation with an arrow. Some draw a spiral around his body, others add words, minimal and repeated (“spin”), a few added a comic-book caption to explain the movement (“I must rotate”). Each one a virtuoso solo, multiplied again and again.
