LA STANZA DI CARLA | #Punk di Nora Chipaumire ITA/ENG

ENGLISH VERSION FOLLOWS BELOW

Maybe it would have been better to get informed in advance and to get to Nora Chipaumire’s show being already “prepared”; or at least it would have been better if I, an elderly lady, had read up about it, so I wouldn’t have felt overwhelmed by the hard, and aggressive to the extreme atmosphere that was created by Nora, Shamar, and by the audio volume, which was excessive for me. I have to admit that everything bothered me, because I was expecting a different reworked version; I was expecting to see something more similar to what little else I’d seen by Nora. But, again, had I informed myself… maybe…

Let’s say that I witnessed once again, to nth degree, her anger, strength, intransigence, combativeness and pride in her origins and in her history (but without implying anything, considering the distortion of sound that was coming my way. Maybe a technician could have balanced out sound and voices, on stage and in the auditorium, better?). And in the light of all this I asked myself what the large audience, for the most part pale and wan, could have actually had to share with these two burly, powerful “ spotlight showmen”.
