On the Way to Peace | Where has The inhabitants’ unsettling ardency wandered off to now? Who stole the fire? Only a faint ring remains of those primitive yet contemporary bodies, a black shroud that darkens in the evening. We walk through the woods, along a pathway lined with verdant cathedrals and sculptures of hazel, through the shrewd darkening of brushwood and leaves. The pattering of footsteps mixed with a dense chattering and cautious chirping of grasshoppers leads us to a clearing developed and renamed ‘The Third Paradise’ by Michelangelo Pistoletto with themes that evoke crops circles. The silence of rocks and tree trunks together with solemn fir samplings set this natural stage, one where human bodies have just appeared in search of a script. Here the dancers choose to open up their sound habitat: a natural silence, interspersed by scampering, humming, chirping and the cracking of twigs. In and around this one-in-three symbol of infinity, composed of grass grown upon grass, their bodies move, dressed in black, ringing the grass borders, intermingling between its tufts and disappearing, then reappearing, running, walking, attempting regeneration and transformation, and we sense the intention and authenticity. Despite the perplexed audience, critical appraisal is on the way.

In cammino verso la pace | Dov’è finito l’ardore inquieto ed errabondo degli “Inhabitants”? Chi ha rubato loro il fuoco? Di quei corpi primitivi eppure così contemporanei resta un alone pallido, un sudario nero che scolora nella sera. Camminiamo attraverso il bosco, lungo un sentiero che costeggia cattedrali di verde e sculture di noccioli, nell’ imbrunire astuto di ramaglie e foglie. Lo scalpiccio di passi mescolato a un fitto chiacchiericcio e a un frinire cauto di cicale ci conduce ad una radura ridisegnata da Michelangelo Pistoletto con effetti che evocano i crops circles e ribattezzati “Il Terzo Paradiso”. Silenzi di pietre e tronchi d’albero, fusti solenni di schiere di abeti incastonano questo palcoscenico naturale, dove i corpi umani sono solo comparse in cerca di un copione. Qui i danzatori scelgono di schiudere il loro habitat sonoro: un silenzio naturale, fatto di fruscii, ronzii, cinguetti e scricchiolare di rami. Dentro e intorno a questo simbolo dell’infinito uno e trino, fatto di erba nell’erba, si avvicendano i loro corpi, vestiti di nero, che inanellano i bordi d’erba, si intrecciano nei suoi ciuffi e spariscono, ricompaiono, corrono, camminano, in prove di rigenerazione e trasformazione di cui intuiamo l’autenticità e l’intenzione. Nonostante il pubblico perplesso, la critica è in cammino.
